Sam McBride is a senior professor with DeVry University (Pomona), teaching communications courses along with 20th-century literature and science fiction. He is coauthor, with Candice Fredrick, of Women Among the Inklings: Gender, C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Charles Williams. He has also published on Lewis’ A Preface to Paradise Lost.
Joseph McCabe is the author of the Bram Stoker and International Horror Guild Award-nominated Hanging Out with the Dream King: Conversations with Neil Gaiman and His Collaborators. His writing has appeared in such publications as SFX, Total Film, RES, Paste and the New York Review of Science Fiction. He is a contributing editor of Comic Book Artist and has contributed to the Smart Pop anthology The Man from Krypton: A Closer Look at Superman. He’d like to thank his mother for introducing him to the concept of guilt, and for making him, when he was 8 years old, a truly amazing Spider-Man costume for Halloween.
Todd Johnson McCaffrey wrote his first science-fiction story when he was twelve and has been writing on and off ever since. Including the New York Times bestselling Dragon’s Fire, he has written eight books in the Pern universe both solo and in collaboration with his mother, Anne McCaffrey. McCaffrey’s work has appeared in many anthologies, most recently with his short story, “Coward,” in When the Hero Comes Home (2011), and with “Robin Redbreast” in the forthcoming When the Villain Returns (August 2012), and the mini-anthology Six.
He is currently working on several non-Pern books, including the near future City of Angels and an alternate history steam world where Bonnie Prince Charlie captures London and restores the Stuarts to the thrones of England and Scotland.
Meghan McCain is a former co-host of ABC’s The View, which she joined in October of 2017. While at The View, the show rose to new heights earning two daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host. As the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, Meghan has been steeped in the high-stakes political arena since childhood. He is the author of openSUSE Linux Unleashed and co-author (with Bud Smith) of WordPress in Depth. Diana McCallum is a writer and podcaster. She is the co-creator of the webcomic Texts From Superheroes and host of the Talk From Superheroes podcast, for which she has been nominated for 10 Canadian Podcast Awards, including Best Podcast Host in Canada. Her superhero musings have appeared on Cracked.com, in the Dark Horse anthology The Secret Loves of Geek Girls and its sequel, The Secret Loves of Geeks.
Denis M. McCarthy is originally from Long Island, N.Y. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Kentucky. His research focuses on examining factors (e.g., personality traits, genetic differences) that influence what people learn about alcohol use and alcohol-related behavior. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri.
