Jay’s work has been honored by Best American Sports Writing and his book Earnhardt Nation, a biography of NASCAR’s Earnhardt family, won praise from both Kirkus and Publishers Weekly for its in-depth research and narrative scope. Charles Busch is an actor, playwright and drag legend. He is the author and star of many
plays, including Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, one of the longest-running plays in Off-Broadway
history. His play The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife played 777 performances on Broadway and
received a Tony nomination for Best Play. Busch wrote and starred in the film versions of his
plays Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, the latter of which won him the Best
Performance Award at the Sundance Film Festival. He has been honored with a special Drama
Desk Award for career achievement as both performer and playwright and he also received the
Flora Roberts Award for Sustained Achievement in the theater by the Dramatist’s Guild.
Jim Butcher is a martial arts enthusiast with 15 years of experience in various styles, including Ryukyu Kempo, Tae Kwon Do, Gojo Shorei Ryu and a sprinkling of Kung Fu. He enjoys fencing, singing, bad science fiction movies and live-action gaming. He is the author of the Dresden Files series, which includes Storm Front, Fool Moon, Grave Peril, Summer Knight, Death Masks and Blood Rites, as well as the Codex Alera series. He lives in Missouri with his wife, son and a vicious guard dog.
Lorie Byrd has been a big fan of television and a follower of politics her entire life. She graduated from N.C. State University in 1988 with a B.A. in political science. In April 2004, she became a contributor to Polipundit.com, a political blog, and in 2005 began writing at Townhall.com, where she is currently a weekly columnist. Mike Byrne is an assistant (but hopefully associate by the time you read this) professor of psychology at Rice University in Houston, though he grew up in Minneapolis. He has an advanced love-hate relationship with all forms of technology, particularly computers. Mike’s research is focused on computer simulation of human cognition and performance, in order to better understand how to design technology that more effectively meshes with human capabilities. When not working, Mike spends most of his time with his wife and two boys (ages 1 1/2 and 5 at the time of this writing), neither of whom will hopefully turn out too much like Bart.
Louis C.K. is a veteran standup comedian and a six-time Emmy Award winning writer, director, actor, editor, and executive producer. He is the creator of numerous acclaimed series, including HBO’s Lucky Louie and the Peabody Award winning shows Louie and Horace and Pete. Louie aired for five seasons on FX, won three Emmy awards with 19 additional nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series for three years in a row, and won multiple guild awards.

His standup comedy career has spanned 40 years, culminating in large scale tours worldwide, including ten sold out shows at Madison Square Garden. His most recent special Back To The Garden was a first-time ever livestream of his last show at Madison Square Garden and was streamed by more than 90 thousand people worldwide. In 2016, C.K. innovated television by self-distributing his standup special Live At The Beacon directly to his fans via his website LouisCK.com. He later launched Horace and Pete exclusively on LouisCK.com., which stands alone today as a bonafide television platform, hosting all of his standup work and tv series. Two of C.K.’s Emmy Awards are attributed to LouisCK.com as the hosting network.
C.K.’s first success as a filmmaker was the short film Ice Cream, which screened at Sundance and as a part of the New Directors, New Films series at MOMA in 1994. In 1998, his first feature film, Tomorrow Night, premiered at Sundance Film Festival in He went on to write and direct the cult classic PootieTang, starring Chris Rock in 2001. Most recently, C.K. wrote, directed, and appeared in Fourth of July, which was released in 2022.
