Ginjer Buchanan, born in Pittsburgh long enough ago to remember the invention of television, moved to New York City to work in social services. She also freelanced for Pocket Books as consulting editor for the Star Trek novel program. In 1984, she was offered a full-time job as an editor at Ace Books. Her current title is senior executive editor and marketing director, Ace/Roc books. Her first novel, a “Highlander” tie-in titled White Silence, was published in February of 1999, and she had an essay in the third “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” episode guide.

A graduate of Wilmington College in Ohio, David E. Bumbaugh is a Unitarian Universalist minister who has served congregations in the Midwest and the Northeast for 40 years. He is currently a professor of ministry at Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago since 1999. The author of two books, The Education of God (1994) and Unitarian Universalism: A Narrative History (2000), he has contributed articles to various journals, chapters for several books and poems to various publications.

Dr. T. Jared Bunch, MD, is the founding editor of the HeartRhythm Case Reports journal and is active in the Heart Rhythm Society. During residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, he received the Outstanding Achievement Award and the Resident Research Award from the Department of Medicine, and the Donald J. Feist Primary Care Clinic Award for Clinical Excellence. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases and electrophysiology at the Mayo Clinic and received the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award for clinical care of patients and the Donald C. Balfour Award for meritorious research. He served as an assistant professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic from 2003-2007. After fellowship, he joined the cardiovascular team at Intermountain Heart Institute and directed heart rhythm research and received the Physician Researcher of the Year for the Intermountain Healthcare System in 2014 and 2017. In 2019, he joined the faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine as a professor of medicine. Dr. Bunch is on the editorial boards of the Heart Rhythm Journal, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Heart, American Heart Journal, JACC Clinical Electrophysiology, and the Journal of Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management.

Since being admitted to the practice of law in 1976, Mike Burg has enjoyed a highly successful career that clearly places him at the pinnacle of the legal profession. He is an outstanding trial attorney who has dedicated his life to fighting for the underdog, and to protecting the rights of Americans to a trial by jury. Mike is the recipient of numerous legal awards, including the Clarence Darrow Award, the American Association for Justice Heavy Lifting Award, and the Weidemann Wysocki Award. He was also named one of the Top 50 Trial Attorneys in America by the Legal 500 from 2012 through 2015, and was named Lawyer of the Year in Products Liability by Best Lawyers in America in 2015. Additionally, Law Week Colorado named Mike the Lawyer of the Decade from 2000-2010. He is Past President of the National Trial Lawyers (2010). Mike has been appointed to numerous leadership positions by Federal Judges around the country in a variety of high-profile Multi District Litigations, including being co-lead attorney in the Ortho Evra and Yaz/Yasmin litigations, which resulted in settlements of over $3 Billion dollars. He continues to actively practice law in the areas of catastrophic personal injury and commercial litigation and has won numerous verdicts for his clients, over twenty of which have been in excess of $1M.

Alafair Burke is an author and law professor. After graduating with distinction from Stanford Law School and serving as a deputy district attorney in Portland, Ore., she is now an associate professor at Hofstra Law School and frequently serves as a legal and trial commentator for radio and television programs. She lives in New York City and is the author of the Samantha Kincaid series of mystery novels (Judgment Calls, Missing Justice and Close Case). Edward Burkley, PhD, is an assistant professors of social psychology at Oklahoma State University. Burkley’s research focuses on goals and motivation. When not watching Dexter, he enjoys photography, writing, and traveling.

Maggie Burns is an aspiring television writer and novelist living in Los Angeles. Educated at Oberlin College and Penn State University, she very nearly completed a Ph.D. in comparative literature, in the course of which she learned an awful lot of ancient, medieval and modern languages, as well as how to write for television. She has taught literature and writing at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Willamette University. A lifelong musician and omnivorous reader, she writes incessantly, knits, quilts, repairs engines, watches a lot of quality television, works at a major studio and climbs Mt. Hollywood as often as possible.

Michael A. Burstein, winner of the 1997 Campbell Award for Best New Writer, has earned 10 Hugo nominations and two Nebula nominations for his short fiction. Burstein grew up in Forest Hills, Queens, but now lives with his wife Nomi in Brookline, Mass., where he is an elected town meeting member and library trustee. He has two degrees in physics and attended the Clarion Workshop. He taught science for many years and he currently edits science textbooks.
