Alafair Burke is an author and law professor. After graduating with distinction from Stanford Law School and serving as a deputy district attorney in Portland, Ore., she is now an associate professor at Hofstra Law School and frequently serves as a legal and trial commentator for radio and television programs. She lives in New York City and is the author of the Samantha Kincaid series of mystery novels (Judgment Calls, Missing Justice and Close Case).
