Paul is a founding member of the award-winning spirits and mixology training company Beverage Alcohol Resource LLC (BAR) and is likewise a founding member and judging chairman of the innovative beverage competition company Ultimate Beverage Challenge LLC. Oné Pagán

Dr. Oné R. Pagán is a husband and a father, as well as a biology professor, scientist, blogger, and author. He is in absolute awe of the natural world, especially the fact that it can be understood through science and mathematics. He spends quite a bit of his time explaining science to family, students, and essentially anyone within earshot. He also loves learning about nature firsthand through his scientific research. He has published original work in various scientific journals including the International Journal of Developmental Biology, Neuroscience Letters, Toxicon, Neurochemical Research, and Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Behavior among others. He holds an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences and a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, both from the University of Puerto Rico, and a Doctorate in Pharmacology with an emphasis in neurobiology, from Cornell University.

Laurie J. Pahel

Laurie J. Pahel is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Chapel Hill, N.C., as well as an adjunct faculty member of the University of North Carolina in the department of psychiatry. She is also a mother of three children and has read aloud each Harry Potter book at least twice—so far.

Richard Painter

Richard Painter, a Republican, worked in the George W. Bush Administration as associate counsel to the President in the White House Counsel’s office from February 2005 to July of 2007. His specialties are government ethics, business ethics, and lawyers’ ethics. Since Donald Trump began his run for the presidency in 2016, Painter has been an outspoken critic of candidate Trump and President Trump, appearing frequently on such popular cable news stations as CNN and MSNBC. The author of two books, he has also appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered and recently was a guest on The Bill Maher Show. Norman Eisen, President Barack Obama’s ethics chief, described Painter as “the Number 1 scholar in the country on government ethics.” Painter, like the President, has a dedicated and faithful Twitter following.

Linda F. Palmer

Dr. Linda Palmer is a doctor of chiropractic, a consultant and speaker on pediatric nutrition and natural parenting challenges, a science writer and a mother. She left her chiropractic practice shortly after the birth of her son, when she was confronted with his serious health complications and astounded by the lack of accurate or helpful information from doctors or books. He is currently a writer for ESPN’s The Undefeated and a contributing analyst for Spectrum SportsNet, the Lakers flagship network. He’s the author of six books including Wide Open, the New York Times bestselling autobiography of Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath. 

Christopher M. Palmer, MD

Christopher M. Palmer, MD, is a Harvard psychiatrist and researcher working at the interface between metabolism and mental health. He is the director of the Department of Postgraduate and Continuing Education at McLean Hospital and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. For more than two decades, he has held leadership roles in psychiatric education at Harvard, McLean Hospital, and nationally. He spent more than 15 years conducting neuroscience research in the areas of substance use and sleep disorders. On top of these academic pursuits, he has continued to practice psychiatry, working with people who have treatment-resistant mental disorders using a variety of standard treatments. He has been pioneering the use of the medical ketogenic diet in the treatment of psychiatric disorders—conducting research in this area, treating patients, publishing academic articles, and speaking globally on this topic. Most recently, he has developed the first comprehensive theory of what causes mental illness, integrating biological, psychological, and social research into one unifying theory—the brain energy theory of mental illness.
